Travel Heaven: Northern Tuli Game Reserve in Botswana

When I think of Africa, I would always associate it with Toto’s song. Remember that? “It’s gonna take a lot to take me away from you. There’s nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do. I bless the rains down in Africa. Gonna take some time to do the things we never have.” Yes, but specifically, Southern Africa. Africa, 2008.

I have always fancied Botswana because it boasts its beauty of vast lands and prolific wildlife – an incomparable secret amongst any other. Not only is Botswana known as the world’s largest producer of diamonds, it is also fairly recognized as a sparsely populated territory, yet rich with its areas of wilderness. Honestly, I could really see myself joining other travelers in one or two Botswana Safaris when I get the chance. The best place to visit is probably in the North Eastern Territory of Botswana which hosts the Tuli Game Reserve. lion

Otherwise known as “Notugre,” it’s a Game Reserve that spans 72,000 hectares of privately-owned land. Gorgeous landscapes, rich wildlife and home to historical, cultural, and natural attractions, the Northern Tuli Game Reserve will definitely feed my curiousity. pic20

I am hopeful to see elephants, kudus, dikers, wildebeests, impalas, zebras, waterbucks, warthogs, steenboks, and even predators like cheetahs, lions, leopards, and hyenas. Having that chance to see them in one place (especially in the wild) would be an achievement. Well, I also read about the presence of around 350 species of birds thriving in the area, as well as 48 species of mammals, and 20,000 animals in the reserve. That will be one memorable trip, I must say. :) Here’s to Africa! :D
